Best informational tour within a Finger Lakes winery
Many years ago when there were only a handful of wineries in the Finger Lakes region, all of the wineries offered educational tours of their facilities. As the wineries have become more popular tourist destinations, many of the wineries have stopped offering regular tours of their facilities. Here the Finger Lakes Innkeepers give their recommendations on where to find the best informational tour within a Finger Lakes winery.
Wagner Vineyards - Wagner was the first winery in the Finger Lakes to appear as a result of the farm winery act. Since 1979 Wagner has been making wine and offering visitors a tour of its operation. Tours run daily at 11:00, 1:30, and 3:00. Just tell the person greeting you at the door that you'd like a tour. Located on the East side of Seneca Lake. ~ Steve & Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins B&B
Glenora Wine Cellars - It's a relaxing sit-down slide show which tells the wine making story from the grapes growing in the vineyards all the way up to putting the wine in the bottle. The show also gives a brief description of the Champagne making process including the disgorgement and dosaging processes. Located on the West side of Seneca Lake. ~ Terry and Bob - Keuka Overlook Bed and Breakfast
