The best restaurant in the Finger Lakes for Steak or Prime Rib

The Finger Lakes region is loaded with restaurants of all kinds. Deciding on just one can be a challenge, so if you happen to narrow your appetite down to Steak or Prime Rib it makes things a bit easier. Here is what the Finger Lakes Innkeepers have to recommend for the best restaurant in the Finger Lakes for Steak or Prime Rib.

The Deer Head Inn - If you are looking for a good steak or good prime rib, The Deer Head Inn on Lower Lake road in Seneca Falls is a great choice. A fun, relaxed atmosphere and a great view of Cayuga Lake makes this a popular spot for our guests (and for us too). You will find consistently good food, some delicious appetizers, specials and a real good salad bar. ~ Ralph & Judy Barrister's Bed and Breakfast

Butch 25's Depot Restaurant - Without a doubt we would have to suggest you take a ride over to an old restored railway depot located at 1 Main Street, Shortsville.  Steaks are what they feature in a casual dinning atmosphere but they do offer other American & Italian dishes.  If you're a train buff you will enjoy the restoration they have done to the New York Central depot as a small part of a period of history that has gone by in the Twin Cities, Shortsville-Manchester. ~ Nancy & Al - Gorham House Bed & Breakfast

Manetti's - It's the the local restaurant we eat at quite allot. They have a wide selection menu to include steak and seafood. They also have the only salad bar in town and carry a nice bottle of wine. Located on Rte 5 & 20 in Canandaigua. ~ Bonnie and Gary Ross - The Sutherland House

Emile's Restaurant - on 5 & 20 in Geneva offers "melt in your mouth" prime rib together with a fabulous salad bar. Top that off with home made soups and desserts in a family restaurant setting at moderate prices. This is a find enjoyed by many of our beef-loving guests. ~ Donna Cunningham - Yale Manor Bed and Breakfast

The Boatyard Grill - A nice selection of unique steak and prime rib preparations can be found at the Boatyard. The ambiance of being right on the water is a great touch. All cuts are wood fired and seasoned. Just make sure you use their "call ahead seating" (not really reservations) to save wait time...though they do have a really nice bar, so waiting is not a chore. Located in Ithaca at the South end of Cayuga Lake. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins Bed and Breakfast

Holly's Red Rooster - The restaurant is a local favorite, a bit hidden on Maiden Lane in the center of the village. They have a surprisingly varied menu, but our guests consistently rave about the prime rib. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Located in Penn Yan (take the alley off of Elm St, between the Fire Department and the village offices- parking and the restaurant are ahead of you). ~ Burney & Susan Baron - Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast

Sarrasin's Restaurant - on the lake has extremely good prime rib. Located in Penn Yan on Keuka Lake. ~ John and Patti - Top O' the Lake B&B

Pasta Only's Cobblestone Restaurant - has the best steak. Located on 5&20 in Geneva. ~ Jean - Paradise on the Lake
