Best Italian restaurant in the Finger Lakes

Italian cuisine is perfect any time of the year. When you are dining in the Finger Lakes area, there are several Italian restaurants that should not be missed. Here our innkeepers guide you to the very special places they recommend as the best Italian restaurant in the Finger Lakes.

Casa de Pasta - Located on Bemis Street in Canandaigua at the North end of Canandaigua Lake

A small house converted to a restaurant, the atmosphere is lively and the food superb. Portions are huge making this restaurant an incredible value. When I told the chef, Dominic, that I tell my guests to split his dinners because the portions are so generous, he replied "Well I just make more then!" ~ Sheryl Mordini - The Acorn Inn

We would suggest you find 125 Bemis Street, a back street of Canandaigua where the Casa de Pasta is located on any Tuesday through Sunday evening.   You can call them but they don't take reservations.  Upon your arrival you'll find lots of homemade Italian cuisine to your liking as we have when we get a desire for a taste of Italian. ~ Nancy & Al - Gorham House B&B

Italian...you have to go with Casa de Pasta! Dominic is the best chef in the area, the food is spectacular, the atmosphere fantastic. A wonderful place for the romantic dinner for two. All our guests who eat there rave about everything! ~ Robin & Michael Grentus - A Wolfpack Bed 'n Breakfast

Both Donna and I vote hands down for Casa de Pasta.  We have never had one customer we sent there for dinner come back disappointed.  The food is consistent, excellent, and reasonably priced.  The atmosphere is charming and relaxed. ~ Jack and Donna - Oliver Phelps B&B

We have been eating there for several years and our guests tell us it is excellent as well. I am a veal lover and they do it best. The staff is always courteous and on the ball too, which today is sometimes hard to find in a restaurant. ~ Fran - Ambroselli's Villa Serendip

By far, Casa de Pasta in Canandaigua is a delight to the taste buds. Of course, their pasta is homemade, their menu choices are magnificent, and we've had not one disappointment on any of their menu selections. Whether it be steak, seafood, or traditional Italian, it's by far our favorite. ~ Jaynee and Guy - Inn on the Main

It's an older house located just one block off Main St. (Rt. 322), cozy but warm in atmosphere. The service is always good, the food wonderful and the prices moderate. They make a minestrone soup that is out of this world! ~Susan and Burney - Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast

Henry B's - Located in Seneca Falls at the North end of Cayuga Lake

It's our favorite Italian Restaurant. The food there is fantastic and the service great. You'll need reservations, but don't go unless your stomach is empty and your wallet full. ~ Glenda and Bill Nash - Gentle Giants Bed and Breakfast

Serving authentic Italian cuisine made with the highest quality ingredients in a relaxed upscale atmosphere, Henry B's is arguably the best Italian restaurant in the Finger Lakes. It is a dining experience not to be missed. It is truly a 'world class' restaurant. It is easy to recommend because all of our guest rave about it! The fare is more traditional "old world" style Italian (not the classic Italian/American red sauce) with home-made pasta, sauces and wonderfully fresh ingredients. Henry B's menu and style of service are designed around sharing. You'll find it to be upscale but not pretentious. Reservations are a must, especially weekends. ~ Ralph and Judy - Barrister's Bed and Breakfast

If you have a group of people (four or more), Henry B's is probably the best high-end Italian restaurant in the Finger Lakes. Everything is served family style, and orders are gigantic! Guests enjoy it most when the group is large enough to order several dishes to sample. At first glance, the prices seem like New York City prices; but bear in mind that each dish, even the smaller order size, will feed between three and four people. ~ Donna - Yale Manor

The best local restaurant for Italian food is Henry B's. The dishes are served family style which means the foods are meant to be shared. The atmosphere is informal elegance and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Of course, the food is superb. 98% of our guests have loved the experience of eating there. We give it 4 stars! ~ John - John Morris Manor

Simply an amazing dining experience that should not be missed. Small, upscale and delicious. Don't forget the reservations. ~ Steve and Kathy Wirt - Wine Country Cabins B&B

Zaza's Cucina - After returning from a 2-week trip to Italy, we were saddened to realize that there was no place in our area where we could get the kind of food we had found and loved in Italy. But, that was before we discovered Zaza's. It is the nearest thing to authentic northern Italian cooking we have found in the area and compares favorably with fine Italian restaurants anywhere. A real find. Located in Ithaca at the South end of Cayuga Lake. ~ Erick - Brookton Hollow Farm Bed and Breakfast

Bianco's Daughter's - has decent food and of course the offerings from the local wineries. Located on Rt. 414 in Watkins Glen. ~ Dorothy-Yorke - Redhouse Country Inn

Pasta Only's Cobblestone's Restaurant - This restaurant has fabulous creative Italian dishes, as well as an extended menu of steaks, fish, veal and chicken dishes.  They make great salads and have a wine list that includes Italian wines as well as those of wineries right here in the Finger Lakes. Located on the corner of 5&20 and Pre-Emption Road in Geneva at the North end of Seneca Lake. ~ Terry - Keuka Overlook Bed and Breakfast

The Deluxe Restaurant - The Italian Restaurant without the Italian name!!  On a Friday or Saturday - call EARLY for reservations, or you'll wait at least an hour.  Reasonable prices, homey atmosphere and food is FRESH and delicious!!! Located on Genesee St. in Geneva at the North end of Seneca Lake. ~ Cristina & Fernando Diaz - The Farr Inn
