The Finger Lakes have many great restaurants. Some have great views, some have great sunsets, some are even on the water. However, some are just absolutely the best for great food. Here are what some of the areas top innkeepers recommend when their guests ask them for the absolute best restaurant in the Finger Lakes.
This is a restaurant where you go to dine, not to eat. The dining experience will take over two hours to enjoy since nothing is rushed. It is "slow food" at it's finest (vs. "fast food"). Meals are accompanied by occasional surprises to enhance the experience. and Suzanne Stack have renovated a 100 year old farmhouse for their
outstanding Restaurant. Everything about Suzanne's stands out from the
crowd. Whenever possible, Suzanne uses locally grown produce, and meats, and
they are prepared to perfection, and beautifully presented. "Save room for
dessert" is more than a cliché at Suzanne's as dessert is truly the
highlight of the meal. Suzanne's is a fine dining experience, not to be
missed, complete with a great selection of Finger Lakes Wine. It is worth the drive from
almost anywhere.

Found at the Glenora Wine Cellars, it has been very popular with our guests as a place for a special meal. The menu has nice selection in the $15 to $25 range, and the view of Seneca Lake is wonderful. Located on the West side of Seneca Lake. ~ Susan and Burney Baron - Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast
One of our favorite restaurants (as well as a favorite of our guests) right on route 14 near Dundee. They have one of the most spectacular lake views, with no sun in your eyes during the evening meal. A new chef came on board in 2006, with a variety of outstanding specials for both lunch and dinner. ~ Peter & Mary Muller - The Pearl of Seneca Lake Bed and Breakfast.
Madderlake Cafe - The food is outstanding and gourmet, using much local and organic produce, and they always offer one or two vegetarian entres. The menu changes frequently with a wide price range, $12 to $28. Several Finger Lakes wines are offered by their knowledgeable sommelier. The atmosphere is quiet and friendly and they are open year round. All of my guests who have been there say it's the best in the area. Try it--You'll love it!

Ports Cafe - Ports, without a doubt! Food is very fresh and seasoned well. It is also presented in a most appetizing manner. The wait-staff are helpful and atmosphere pleasant. ~ Cristina Diaz - The Farr Inn B&B
Pleasant Valley Inn - The restaurant is housed in a historic Victorian House which because of the inner room design, provides tons of atmosphere and lots of peace and quiet since there are only several tables in each of the rooms. Run by a husband/wife team, Tom is the quintessential host and greeter (his explanations of the food specials of the day are incredible), and MaryAnn is the chef (the food is always a perfect 10!). They have a fabulous wine list (plenty of Finger Lakes wines and lots of upper class vintages form California, Australia, etc.) and all of the wait staff is perfectly trained to catch your every want and need. Henry B's - Serving authentic Italian cuisine made with the highest quality ingredients in a relaxed upscale atmosphere, Henry B's is arguably the best Italian restaurant and maybe simply the best restaurant in the Finger Lakes. It is a dining experience not to be missed. It is truly a 'world class' restaurant. It is easy to recommend because all of our guest rave about it! The fare is more traditional "old world" style Italian (not the classic Italian/American red sauce) with home-made pasta, sauces and wonderfully fresh ingredients. Henry B's menu and style of service are designed around sharing. You'll find it to be upscale but not pretentious. Bonefish Grill - Man oh man even if you are not a big sea food lover you will love the food
at this great restaurant. From the fresh salad to the desert it is grand.
